Reverend Lishi Tado describes his profession in a single sentence: service to people is service to God. Two decades of pastoral care and counselling under the Nyishi Baptist Church Council in Arunachal Pradesh have been spent on the practical form of that idea — building bridges in a community he describes as often divided and broken by its own indifference.
He came into the council's leadership early, serving as its Youth Secretary from 1999 to 2001. In July 2001 he was posted to Town Baptist Church in Itanagar as senior pastor, where he worked in pastoral care and counselling until 2006. The council, watching the work, sent him to study: a Bachelor of Divinity at United Theological College, Bangalore, completed in 2008.
He returned in early 2009 as principal of the council's Bible college at Arunachal Theological College, a post he held until 2011. The council then sent him further. In 2012 he went to the United Kingdom, completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Theology at Nazarene Theological College, Manchester, in 2013, and a Master of Research Studies in Theology at the University of Birmingham in 2017.
His writing has followed the same concerns. "Contemporary Christianity in Arunachal Pradesh: Intra-Extra Conversion Issues", published in 2018, examines the divisions that have opened among Christian believers in the state and argues for re-union among the churches and organisations as the way to a firmer common ground. His second book, "A Brief Survey of the Old Testament Books", released on 24 May 2026, is a biblical studies series written to give ordinary readers a working knowledge of the scriptures they already hold.
On the strength of that ministerial experience and those degrees, the council has appointed him Secretary of its Christian Literature Department, where he now carries its literature work. Through the Nyishi Baptist Church Council — an organisation recognised by the state government of Arunachal Pradesh — he has also taught and guided the leaders of partner associations and institutions, communally, regionally and internationally.
